One day, while I was walking towards the park, I saw a girl. She was the prettiest one I had
ever seen. But she was not alone. She was with her boyfriend, who was asking her if she
could forgive him. She answered “NO! GO AWAY”. He continued bothering her so I
walked over to them and told the guy to leave her alone. He walked away and disappeared
into the crowd. Immediately I asked the girl whether she was ok and she replied “yes, I am.
Her French accent, her almond-shaped eyes and above all, her gaze were something I could
never forget: I don’t know why but I had told myself “she’s the right one”.
She asked me what my name was, she said hers was Elise. Suddenly I realized it was her. I
couldn’t believe it! “Do you recognize me?”, I asked. She was as surprised as I was.
-“Víctor!”, She said, “after all these years…”.
-“Where did you go Elise?”, I asked. And we hugged as strong as we could.
She told me her parents had had new jobs in France so all of them had travelled with no time
or chance to notify anyone, not even me.
Since that day I had been wondering what else could I do to meet her again, I couldn’t sleep
because of the anxiety and longing to see you at least on a glimpse. “I tried to find you but
you just disappeared” I told her.
She told me she had been looking for a way to come back to London since that very same
-“What are we gonna do now?” She asked me.
-“Would you like to go to a café?” I replied. “I know a nice place where we can talk”
After a long chat I asked her where she was staying. She replied she had passed the night on a
hotel so I proposed her to stay with me at my flat.
Since that day we’ve been living together, many years have passed, several moments that
makes me thankful of the day she came back to my life. THE END.
